  • Mono-normativity

    Mono-normativity or mononormativity is the normative assumption that monogamy is healthier or more natural than ethical non-monogamy, as well as the societal enforcement of such an assumption.

  • Mono-poly

    A mono-poly relationship is when 1 partner is monogamous and 1 partner is polyamorous.

  • Monogamous

    Also known as mono. Characterized by, or practicing monogamy.

  • Monogamy

    The practice or custom of having a sexual relationship or marriage with only one other person at a time.

    The term is somewhat controversial, as it means different things according to different authors. But the common part in most definitions is that “nesting partner” refers to the partner with whom we share housing and/or finances and long-term commitments.In some cases it is used as “primary partner”, but not necessarily.

    Also known as NRE and Honeymoon phase. Intense excitement, euphoria, and almost electrical sensation typically experienced at the beginning of a romantic relationship.

  • Non-monogamous

    Characterised by non-monogamy.

  • Non-monogamy

    The practice of having more than one partner or having one partner but also having sex with other people. Non-monogamy does not necessarily imply the presence of openness and consent, unlike ENM.
