A form of polyamory in which the person prioritizes themselves as a primary partner. The term often includes the presumption of living separately from their partners. Individuals who identify as solo poly emphasize their autonomous lifestyle and the freedom to choose their own relationships without holding permission from others. Flexibility in the format that accommodates their relationships is important to them. Such people sometimes do not seek or need relationships that resemble couples, do not seek to pay with a partner (or partners) or combine finances with someone.
